Shenandoah FC Elite’s Micro Soccer Program
The Micro Soccer Program is specially designed for U8 (2012) through U6 (2015) players (rising U8s, U7s, and U6s) who are excited about soccer and need a more challenging environment to develop as young athletes. The Micro Soccer Program is designed to provide a competitive atmosphere while furnishing the players with positive experiences to nurture their self-esteem, confidence, and passion for the game.
Professional coaches will apply age-appropriate training curriculum focused primarily on foot skills, and the introduction of basic soccer concepts in order to offer the highest development program for U8s, U7s, and U6s.
We will form three player pools: U8 Boys/ U8 Girls (2012 Players), U7 Boys/ U7 Girls (2014 Players), and U6 Boys/ U6 Girls (2015 Players). The pools will train with professional staff during the season.
The Pre Travel player pools will train once a week for four weeks.
Goals
To improve players Technical Skills (Dribbling, 1v1, Passing-Receiving, and Finishing)
To make smarter soccer players (THINKERS) - start working on their perception and decision-making depending on game situations (on/off the ball)
To improve motor skills and sport-specific fitness (coordination, balance, and agility)
To develop passion and love for the sport of soccer
To prepare players for the transition to travel soccer at U9
What is it?
Shenandoah FC Elite’s Micro Soccer Program is the first program of its kind in this area and this special program to provide an introduction to travel soccer for U8 (2012) and U7 (2014) and U6 (2015) boys and girls who are interested in training at a higher level.. Although by no means only for children intending to play travel soccer someday, the program is ideal for U8 players who may be interested in trying out for spring 2021 travel (tryouts TBA) or for U7’s and U6's who want to try out a year early or just to get that extra training and exposure to the professional SFCE coaching staff. Some weeks will feature primarily training with some in house scrimmages.
